If you’ve ever tried to remember your character’s eye color halfway through a six-book series—or spent three hours digging through Amazon to double-check your own backlist—you’re not alone. And if you’ve muttered “there’s got to be a better way,” hi, I’m Jess, and I’m here to make your life easier.
Plot Twists and Pivot Tables is my passion project born out of equal parts chaos, caffeine, and a deep love for the indie author community. I’m a lifelong reader, ARC junkie, and Charm City Romanticon volunteer… but I also happen to be a data analyst who gets way too excited about spreadsheets and automation.
So I’m combining the two worlds—with tools designed to make your author life a little more organized and a lot less stressful. Think dashboards, story tracking, publishing data, and yes... possibly a series bible. But here's the thing—I don’t want to assume what you need.
I want to build tools that are actually useful—and that’s where you come in.
If you’re an author (or an aspiring one), I’d love to hear from you. What do you wish you had? What do you always forget? What makes you say, “Ugh, I’ll deal with that later,” for the 47th time this week?
📋 Drop your thoughts in this short, snark-friendly survey and help shape the tools I build:

Everything I create will be free, because I know budgets are tight and passion doesn’t always pay the bills. But if you really love what I make and want to send a cup of chaos-fueling coffee my way, I’ve got a little donation jar too: https://buymeacoffee.com/plottwistsandpivottables
Thanks for being here, and for doing what you do. Let’s organize the plot twists so you can focus on writing them.
With love (and pivot tables),
Jess
