But to Alexandra Mountbatten, the fearless woman who's known him since childhood, Cort is merely the loathsome boy next door. What happens when she realizes he's grown into an intelligent, stunning, stubborn man?

One. She. Wants.

An independent countess seeking one night of passion.

A forbidding man determined to ignore her.

A tempestuous gamble on love.

Come along on this slow burn, enemies-to-lovers, sorta second chance romp!

Please note that the heat level is red hot! If you like reading about widows who are single and looking to mingle with some of England's most notorious scoundrels, be sure to check out the Wicked Widows' League set!

MY REVIEW:

DISCLAIMER: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Cortland (Cort) DeWitt has always been infatuated with his neighbor, Alexandra (Alex) Mountbatten, even though she rejected his kiss all those years ago and he tried to get over her.

When she propositions him, he thinks it will be just the trick to get her out of his head.

Alex remembers Cort as being the little boy that followed her around when they were younger, and then attempted to kiss her. But he’s grown up to be a handsome man, and the society pages are filled with stories about him! Alex is a widow and her dead husband didn’t care much for passion or love in their marriage, so when an opportunity presents itself to ask Cort to show her what passion looks like, she takes the chance.

I really loved this story. Alex and Cort were so cute and their chemistry was a delicious simmer throughout the story! I loved watching Cort struggle with his desire to hate Alex for ignoring him all those years ago, but still being infatuated with her. And I just loved the ending, and how he put the ball in her court.

I am a hard core fan of Tracy. Her stories and her writing just pull me in and I can envision myself directly in her stories. If you haven’t read her yet but you like steamy historical romance, please give her a try! This story also features the tropes: enemies-to-lover, second chance and a delicious slow burn.

Thank you to Tracy and WOLF Publishing for the advanced copy of this book.
