Secrets have a way of making themselves known in a small town, and Red River, Texas is harboring a big secret–or two.
She’s not who she says she is.
He’s the prodigal son who returned too late.
Rusty Montgomery is Red River’s best kept secret. The sweet redhead hiding in plain sight while running the county’s favorite watering hole. Her existence is manufactured on a mountain of lies and half-truths, the foundation of her family built on the ruins of his. Rusty lives each day knowing that eventually her past will catch up with her.
And when it does, she might just take the whole town down with her.
When her mentor dies, leaving her safety and her livelihood in a fifty-fifty split with a man who left town and never looked back, an unconventional arrangement will keep both Rusty and Alejandro’s secrets safely tucked away in the sleepy little town–for now. But when Rusty’s past stands to benefit from her discovery–and downfall–she’ll have to put her faith in an inconvenient husband and decide if it’s really the truth that will set her free.
MY REVIEW:
DISCLAIMER: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I absolutely adored this book! Rusty and Alejandro’s story was so perfect, with a hint of suspense! Noelle knows how to craft a story and I was so excited when I saw that she had The Secrets We Keep coming out!
I loved watching Rusty and Alejandro fall for each other, how they started trusting each other, and how they, and the town, rallied around one another when the past kept trying to tear them down!
While this book can be read as a standalone, there are characters in this story that are from Noelle’s Accidentally Yours series. So when you’re done with The Secrets We Keep, make sure to go back and check out that series, starting with Accidentally on Purpose!
Thank you Noelle and Michelle for this advance copy!
