BLURB:

There are four ladies in London who have a most unladylike hobby: solving mysteries. No conundrum is too great for these young women. Until they stumble upon the Jack of Hearts, a scandalous rogue who steals jewels from the rich and may well steal the heart of one of their own.

When Charlotte finds herself penniless and compromised by London’s most notorious masked scoundrel she resigns herself to fleeing to a nunnery. Or perhaps just the countryside. Then Edmond Mabson, her best friend’s older brother, swoops in and does the gallant and gentlemanly thing and marries her to salvage her reputation. As they grow closer, Edmond has a secret that could destroy them both.

MY REVIEW:

I read this book as a part of the Rogue Of My Heart anthology.

I really enjoyed Edmond and Charlotte’s story! Charlotte’s curiosity gets her into a bit of a bind when she’s compromised by the Jack of Hearts, and in order to save not only her reputation, but the reputation of her family, she has to find someone to marry. Enter Edmond, her best friend’s older brother. Edmond and Charlotte had amazing chemistry throughout this whole story! I’m not one for spoiling a book, in case someone reads my review and hasn’t read the book, but Robyn kept me on my toes in this book! Edmond and Charlotte both do things for their own reasons, and it creates a bit of tension between the two, but it was absolutely spectacular watching them fall for each other!!

This is the first book by Robyn DeHart I’ve read, and it won’t be my last! I believe this book can be read as a standalone. I read it without having read the first three and wasn’t confused at all! The heroines from the other books do appear in this one, but I didn’t feel like I was missing anything important by not reading those books first. But I will check them out later!

P.S. This is not a love triangle!
