I’ve already written a review for this book, so I thought I would do something a little different when it came time to reviewing the audiobook (which I listened to on Audible and is narrated by Erin Mallon and Sebastian York.)
This was the first audiobook I listened to narrated by Erin Mallon and Sebastian York. I thought they did a great job, minus a critique I have about Erin Mallon voicing Dom’s lines. I almost wished that we had Sebastian reading Dom’s lines even when Erin was narrating Ally’s chapters. I am interested in listening to more audiobooks narrated by them.
BY A THREAD TOP TEN
Dom and Ally’s meet cute (I love a good enemies-to-lovers story, and this setup was chef’s kiss!)
When Dom sees that Ally is in the same meeting as him. The looks they exchanged and their banter; when he calls her “sausage fingers” 😂
Ally finding Dom in his office bathroom. (Including the lead up scene at the bar)
Drunk Dom (3x the charm! I’ve read this book twice and each time I had glossed over the funniness of this scene. I think Sebastian York’s voice makes it so much more funnier too!)
I loved how concerned Dom was for Ally when she got the call about her dad.
The bar alcove scene.
The lap dance.
CRITIQUE: Ally is pretty adamant about/outright refuses any help from Dom, and yet she’s completely oblivious and doesn’t question where all her gifts are coming from.
CRITIQUE: Erin Mallon’s voice for Dom was annoying. She made him sound old.
“Eat your pants, weirdo.”
