BLURB:
Sexy firefighter Logan Bailey is an expert at putting the wet stuff on the hot stuff—on and off duty. But he just did the unthinkable, and it wasn’t trading in his tube socks. He slept with his nemesis. His mortal enemy. The crazy redhead he loves to hate. Cara Goulding.
And no matter how much he wants to lie to himself, he has to admit, it was mind-blowing.
Cara will not be tempted by the one night she spent with prince dickhead—even if her traitorous body remembers every earth-shattering moment. It was a mistake and she’s stronger than that. She’ll just keep avoiding him and pretend it didn’t happen.
But the feuding small town of Tilikum might not be big enough for the both of them. Avoiding each other isn’t working. And with every moment they’re forced to spend together, the sparks get hotter, the flames grow brighter, and the tension borders on unbearable.
Until they both reach their breaking point and their fiery relationship explodes.
Author’s note: a sexy firefighter and the sassy redhead who drives him crazy. All the banter, delicious tension, a heartwarming family, and Kindle-melting steam. Enemies to lovers is as hot as it gets and these two are FIRE.
The Bailey Brothers is meant to be read in order. Start with book one, Protecting You.
MY REVIEW:
Ever since Claire teased us in Fighting for Us (Bailey Brothers, #2), I have been anxiously awaiting Logan and Cara’s story and Chasing Her Fire did not disappoint! This book was everything I wanted and more with a couple twists that just took it to a whole new level!
In the epilogue for Rushing In (Bailey Brothers, #4) we see Logan having drunken sex with a mystery woman, waking up alone and then the book ends. Mostly everyone assumed it was Cara but no one knew for a fact until the first teaser was released at the beginning of May.
I absolutely loved this story; I thought Logan and Cara were perfect for each other. I loved how awkward they were in the beginning of the story when they couldn’t decide if they actually still hated the other person knowing that they slept with them. I loved how Logan stepped up when circumstances forced them to be together and that he never complained about his added responsibilities. I loved how they were there for each other when they needed someone to lean on and I loved watching them fall in love!
I loved the glimpses we got of the Bailey family and that we got to share in some of their special occasions. I also loved that we got to see the kids rally around Gram in her time of need while in the previous books, it had always been Gram coming to the aide of her children.
There is only one book left in this series (Levi’s) and while I am excited to read it later this summer, I am really hoping Claire decides to give us a Haven Brothers series because I don’t want to leave Tilikum just yet.
If you have yet to read this series and you’re a fan of small town romance, family sagas, pranks and a little mystery, I highly recommend that you do so; you won’t regret it!
