**Not a Cliff Hanger**
His world was water and rhythm. Hard work and drive kept Royal O'Connell one step ahead of his competition. His spot on the swim team, keeping his scholarship, was the only plan that mattered.
His world was ebony and ivory. Natural talent and ambition set Camden Morgan apart from the other music majors. His dedication scoring him a full ride.
Normally, their paths would have never crossed….
But when Royal meets his best friend's new roommate, his big plan and Camden’s controlled environment faces a variable that could destroy it all.
Attraction.
The world they live in had no room for error. That undeniable pull between them was dangerous and neither one of them could've prepared for the choice they'd have to make.
Love isn't always an easy road and, when everything they've worked for is on the line, they'll have to decide if being together is worth the risk.
“This need, this constant deep breath stuck in my lungs, until I saw your face, heard you play, touched you, until I could breathe, too. It’s love, it’s more, and it’s ours to share.”
MY REVIEW:
This is another book/author that I am kicking myself for not reading sooner, and I am so thankful for audiobooks because now I can “read” while I’m working.
Let There Be Light is hands down one of the purest and most passionate romances I have ever read/listened to. A.M. Johnson has a way with words that just transports you into the very world her characters exist in, and Aaron Shedlock and Teddy Hamilton lending their voices to these characters only added to that experience!
In this coming of age story, I found myself rooting for Royal and Camden from the very beginning of the story. Their chemistry jumped out at me and I loved watching their relationship develop throughout the book. I liked that most of their obstacles weren’t as big as what they thought they would be. Don’t get me wrong, they definitely struggled, but most of their problems really seemed to exist in their heads. It isn’t until they both decide to accept themselves for who they are, and not let others dictate whether they should be ashamed by their sexual preferences that they truly blossom as individuals, and as a couple.
I really loved the side characters in this, even Ellis. My favorites were definitely Kai and Indie. Kai, if you haven’t read this yet, is Royal’s teammate/Camden’s roommate (he’s the reason that they met). and Indie is Royal’s sister. Their chemistry shot off the pages while I was listening to this story, and I loved their banter!! I’m excited that their book is next in the series, Seven Shades of You, and I can’t wait to read it!!
